Below is a blog post I originally posted 9/9/2013 on my original bruniphoto.worpress.com site! I wanted to share it here as I recap some of the beautiful places and events I’ve visited. I will be sharing more of these older posts as well as new ones as I venture into travel blogging full time. More to come on that subject, but for now enjoy the photos from my first visit to the Plainville, CT Fire company Hot air balloon festival. All images are available for sale as prints, canvas, acrylic and cards. Message me at bruniphoto@gmail.com and I will send you a price list. Thanks for stopping by!

Sep. 9, 2013

It’s been a few years since I discovered the fact that there is a balloon fest practically in my back yard. I use practically loosely, but less than 30 minutes to see such a grand exhibit is nothing. It’s easy to get to, despite the 100’s of 1000’s of other people trying to get there too. Maybe not that many, but it’s very popular. It was well worth any effort. So much so that I announced I would be getting up at the crack of dawn (5am in these parts) to witness the sunrise lift off. Well my kids insisted on going with me, and since hubby was “up” because of the rustling of little feet, he came along as well. No one regretted the early morning wake up call, because it was even more spectacular than the evening before. A big, massive balloon being filled with air via a fan (who Knew?), then the blast of hot air to get the balloon upright, then liftoff. One after another. Sometimes 2 would start to stand tall at the same time. It was a feast for the eyes. Then the skies would be filled with the colorful, upside down teardrops drifting off into the distance. What can they see? How far will they go? When will they land? Where will they land? My kids thought for sure some folks would be waking up to one of these in their back yard.

Needless to say I am so glad I was able to finally make it, and for my kids to witness such a grand spectacle. I highly recommend the morning liftoff. Lots of balloons gong up at once, is something worth the early morning wake up call.

Earlier this week I got to spend some time with this adorable 11 month old and his mom at the very picturesque Belltown Hills Orchard in Glastonbury, CT. We started at the apple orchard, strolled through the mums on display and played with some pumpkins! I underestimated his strength as he easily pulled very large pumpkins off the shelves and found it no problem to roll them to see how far they’d go. All in good fun!

If you are interested in a Fall mini session contact me today. The fee is $90 and includes 30 minute session, 10 digital images on CD and online viewing gallery as well as mobile app.

Hope everyone is enjoying the Fall season! Thanks for stopping by : )

Nature walk-Cotton Hollow Preserve-Glastonbury-CT

My friend and I went for a hike at Cotton Hollow Preserve in Glastonbury, CT, Thursday morning.  I’m always amazed when I come across places like this, practically in my back yard. I first went here with my kids a couple years ago, but we entered the trail from another location. I had no idea there was another entrance. I think we walked a mile in, but in that short distance we came across an abandoned shell of what I assume was an old mill. There were some well constructed bridges and a nice group of walking sticks for the taking if needed. I thought this was very thoughtful. My kids would have had a field day with those. The leaves have just begun to change, so I think I’ll have to return in the next couple of weeks and see if I can get some more Fall color. Thanks for stopping by!

CT-Senior-Portrait-Photographer-Pamela Bruni | Lauren V | Hammonasset Beach | Madison, CT

Lauren chose to have her senior portraits done at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, CT. We met at Meig’s point and thought the nearly empty beaches and jetty would be a good backdrop for her senior portraits, and a portrait with her lovely sister. Keep this in mind  when considering your senior portrait session. It’s easy to incorporate your family into some of the photos.  A big thank you to my friend Kelly for her assistance! It was a perfect summer evening photo shoot at the the beach. Still need your senior portraits done? Contact me today so we can plan your perfect senior portrait session. I can do a studio session or at a preferred location. bruniphoto@gmail.com  Thanks for stopping by! -plb

CT Newborn-Baby-Portrait-Photographer-Baby W

Meet baby Weston! Yesterday marked 6 weeks for him. He surprised mom and dad by coming a little earlier than expected, so he’s still a tiny little guy but,  he’s really packing on the pounds now(or should I say ounces!) He couldn’t keep his eyes off his beautiful mama, loved to snuggle, and also happy  just hanging out on the boppy.  He’s a peanut, but he’s a strong little mister, and as expected he’s been kicking and stretching those little limbs far too long to be curled or wrapped up for a photo. “No thank you,” he said!

Thanks Chelsea and Joe for bringing your sweet baby over so I could meet him and for having me do his first photo session! Enjoy your little bundle of joy!
